Gary Johnson
CEO, Founder & Managing Partner
Gary has 25+ years experience as an executive, advisor, operator and innovator across the technology industry. He has been involved with numerous IPOs, key strategic partnerships, acquisitions and financings representing over $50 billion in capital. His career has primarily focused on the technology industry where he has extensive, global experience across a variety of domains, ranging from artificial intelligence & computer vision to mobile video & augmented reality, and even autonomous, solar-powered airplanes. Most recently, Gary was Global Head of Strategy, Business & Corporate Development at Pinterest, during a period of high growth, international expansion and the company’s IPO.
Previously, Gary was leading global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Facebook (now Meta). There he spent six years, also from private through IPO, leading teams focused on driving the company's key growth initiatives, including Instagram, Oculus and WhatsApp. During his tenure at Facebook Gary closed 50+ strategic acquisitions. Prior to Facebook, he was Vice President at Credit Suisse and at Jefferies in their Technology Investment Banking groups where he focused on advising private & public companies with acquisitions, venture capital, growth & debt financing and IPOs.
Earlier in his career, Gary spent almost a decade in a number of product & operating roles at Apple across management, engineering and product development. He worked primarily on building consumer products, including Apple’s video and photo solutions, and notably managed teams responsible for product innovations across Apple’s Mac, iPhone and iPad product lines.
Gary earned his AB from Harvard, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and holds an MBA from The Wharton School with a concentration in Corporate Strategy & Finance.
When he isn’t working with entrepreneurs, Gary is usually found geeking out on the latest technology (even writing code). During his free time, you will find him in the kitchen cooking up a new recipe, running trails out in the mountains, or imagining home design concepts & traveling the world with his amazing wife and best board member, Kelly.
